Arab and Jewish students become acquainted through culture and art

This program, which has been supported by the Abraham Fund for the past three years, is intended to eliminate stereotypes and to bring Jewish and Arab pupils and students together throughout the school year in a special program that gives them extensive knowledge about each other’s culture and religion. They also engage in joint activities - crafts, sports, preparation of food from the two cultures - through which they become acquainted and grow close to each other.
This program has been extremely successful, and the museum is planning to expand it in the future.

Special visits for New Immigrants

The Museum offers new immigrants unique guided tours of the Museum and the Synagogue, with the aim of familiariasing them with Jewish tradition. For many among them, this is the first time they have visited a synagogue and seen Jewish works of art.
The tours are guided either in the immigrant’s language (usually Russian) or in easy Hebrew.

Blind children and adults at the Museum of Italian Jewish Art

During the past year, the Museum was adapted to host blind visitors, both schoolchildren and adults. Under the direction of professionals from the Center for the Blind, obstacles were removed and changes made so that the Museum could host the blind and the visually impaired.
Special guided tours were planned for this unique population. The tours include feeling centuries-old items from the Museum’s collection and listening to Jewish music from the Baroque period that is related to the Museum exhibits.
